Miss that original Tokyo Roki filters Subaru use to supply here in the USA? Have no Fear, Mazda to the rescue. Yes you heard correct, Mazda ROKI oil filters are the same as the original oil filter that came in your WRX and STI back in the early 2000s. Just slightly larger. Why do you want it you ask? The blue filters Subaru uses here in the states aren't as good of quality as the original black Tokyo Roki filters. The extra oil capacity and filtration also helps a lot.

These Mazda 14-302 oil filters are not specifically called out for my Subaru Ascent 2023 base, so I am leery of using them. I'm looking for some document that says these can be used with the FA-24 turbo engine. They appear to be great for the EJ engine.

The Roki mazda filters are the best if you are coming up on an oil change, many reviews on YouTube showcase the internals of these filters and why they are superior to aftermarket filters.

People used to recommend oem filters but they are no longer produced by the same manufacturer. Mazda filters have always been a great alternative.
