Perfect after an upgrade to the position indicator!
Black Control Knobs for 2011 WRX Hatch.
Great look and feel. Simple and well engineered knobs. Easy install with the helpful video from Billetworkz.
The only complaint is that the position indicator is just an open hole which doesn't allow enough of the lighted back glow to actually work as an indicator. Additionally, the indicator hole on the black knobs is invisible. They can be worked by feel alone but not ideal.
My solution was to insert a 1/8'' clear acrylic rod (amazon) to mimic the original knob design. I used a pressure fit only and colored the end with a sharpie. My recommendation would be to cut 3 pieces 5/16'', insert a dab of silicone adhesive and press in leaving a 1/16'' reveal which acts a tactile and visual indicator.
I chose to go the full length (2 @ 1-1/8'' & 1-3/16'' for center knob) which meant that the base needed to be narrower because it hits the mechanism. Use the butt end of drill bits to size. I would recommend using a file to flatten one side and install towards the center. I spun them using a drill to resize.
With the functional indicators, this is one of my favorite mods and I highly recommend it!
