If you've owned an STI for an extended period of time, you may have noticed that the factory reverse lockout pull has developed a slight rattle. This is more commonly seen on vehicles that have seen higher mileage or more aggressive driving.
The COBB Reverse Lockout Pull replaces the factory, rattle-prone, plastic pieces with machined billet aluminum and delrin. Two choices of anodizing and delrin ensure a match to the 6 speed cobb knob. Dual internal o-rings ensure a smooth, rattle-free, operation. The integrated delrin collar keeps heat in check for cars that are exposed to the sun for extended periods.

Thought the replacement would take care of a tiny rattle I had, but during replacement of OEM unit realized it is plastic, but pressed on with the change. Very nice and smooth. Not a waste of money after all.
Now back to tracking down that rattle !! Red with black unit.
I picked up this Cobb reverse lock out after switching over to a shirt throw shifter. I noticed pretty quickly that i was getting an annoying rattle while in gear. After alittle research i decided to get this especially since it was on sale! Install was simple with the correct tools and make sure to try and use your OEM reverse cable pin! The one supplied by Cobb is slightly larger and will make install harder than it needs to be. Overall 10/10!
I had upgraded to a stiffer shifter bushing set and got a rattling noise from the reverse lockout when using a aftermarket shift knob. this completely fixed the issue. And it looks great.
