Not sure why I always thought these things were junk. But after 17 oil changes and 17 times I’ve come away with dirty hands, I thought I’d give this a shot. All of my fears were put at ease when I installed it. It’s a nice part and it’s tucked up further than I thought it would be. I think I have a better chance of holing the oil pan than I do of ripping this out. And of course IIR did exactly what they always do; fast, triuble-free shopping experience.
Install was easy. Torque to 18 ft lbs. Got to test briefly with some leftover oil that didn't get to drip out. Can't wait to use this on the next oil change!
Now I can just pull a lever to drain my oil. No more crush washers lol
The fumoto valves we all know and love.
I’ve now put a fumoto valve on an 86 TRD SE, a GR86, and now my vb WRX, and I can’t imagine an easier oil change. Never any leaks, they seem pretty well guarded by the underplating as long as you don’t bottom out in which case you’ve got other issues. I’ve had one delivered for my last 2 cars before filling the gas tank up for the first time. Easily a must have purchase.
Now the only tool I need to perform an oil change is myself. This thing sweet. Hope it doesn't leak lol.
It's Japanese and it's quality. And I've had Fumoto valves since my 2013 WRX, 2022 Highlander, and now my 2024 WRX TR. It makes oil change better with very little mess. No more crush washers. It's literally installing it and when doing an oil change, you turn it 1/4 turn and the oil comes out. You can slow the initial pour as it's a ball valve inside so you're not dumping hot oil by accident but it's worth every penny. It's an item that over time, it pays for itself. And I'm in the Northeast where road salt during winter eats up everything but this valve always held up as it's brass with stainless parts.
This is a must have. Even if you don't do your own maintenance, this avoids the struggle of dealing with a bolt.
The fumoto oil drain plug has made my oil change so much easier. Highly recommend for subie owners for that easy and mess free oil change.
