Ordered this for my 2008 Impreza 2.5i due to a rusty and rattling factory exhaust. First of all, this exhaust turned out to be better than I expected. It’s Invidia, so I shouldn’t have been surprised. A friend and I installed it ourselves (difficult for 1 man job) and it took around 3 hours total, mostly because we took a few breaks. Anyway, one thing I must say is that this exhaust should come with new bolts and gasket for where the exhaust pipe meets the catalytic converter because the factory bolts w/ springs didn’t fit well with the new exhaust (was extremely loose even when “tightened” all the way) but it was only a trip to Advanced auto and a few dollars later I found new bolts that fit, so not a big deal. Anyway, I was afraid this exhaust would sound too high pitched like a typical fart can exhaust. However, after the first test drive, I was more than pleased with the sound. It’s not obnoxious and annoying to the point where people can hear me from a mile away. But it’s also not quiet. It’s perfect, can be deep and a bit rumbly around 1500-1900 rpms, which also sounds great. Cruising at 2,000 rpms is where it’s a bit loud, especially inside the cabin, unless you’re very light on the accelerator but this doesn’t bother me. Accelerating from 60-70mph at 4,000 rpms, this thing is where it gets pretty LOUD for a catback exhaust but it sounds awesome. Of course it doesn’t net any gains other than better flowing exhaust and for the sound, and a slight weight reduction…
