I've owned several WRXs and always used NGK Iridium series plugs and never had a single issue when it was time for the maintenance replacement. They were made for this engine and rarely ever have an issue. Would recommend.

These are the best plugs to use if your car is stock or lightly modified. Make sure you change them regularly. IIR always got the best price too. Pic is the old ones I took out, I always replace with NGKs. They held up fairly nice as I’m not sure when the previous owner changed them
Although they can be a pain to get to plugs are extremely important to maintain. This is a good set which arrived quickly.
