There have been many reported cases of people breaking the turbo-to-downpipe mounting studs or stripping the nuts when attempting to remove the downpipe. We do not suggest anyone take this project on unless they are prepared to extract a broken stud or remove a stripped nut. The gasket should be replaced anytime the downpipe is separated from the turbo, even if it was relatively recently replaced.
