As stated above, I have a 2001 Impreza 2.5rs. I just completed swapping it to a USDM ej205 and wanted to run the killer b holy headers I already had on hand. Unfortunately, due to lack of space in the engine bay, the headers TOUCHED the factory WRX radiator I was running in the RS. I took a chance after speaking to a few folks on the forums and went with the KOYO, due to its thinner design. I figured worst case scenario, I can massage a few pieces to make it fit, but I'm this case I got the best case scenario. This radiator actually gave me a good bit of clearance between the headers and the radiator. To be clear, I did have to trim one tab off the bottom, but that was obvious even when looking at the photos online.
Now I have no issues and do not worry about my radiator biting the dust without warning.
I've been driving on it for a week now, and I'm noticing about a 5 degree difference on average and MUCH faster cool down times when the fans kick on. Results may vary as I am running Mishimoto universal fans with NO SHROUD. (A shroud and stock fans may have worked with this radiator, but I prefer to have a little extra clearance in the bay if possible)
I could not be happier with the results AND I get to use the headers people swear I couldn't use due to fitment.
